Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has thanked God after his name was left off a list of governors whom FCT Minister Nyesom Wike accused of fighting him.

Governor Sule made the comment during an interview with TVC on Tuesday.

The governor was responding to questions about the growing political dispute involving Wike and some All Progressives Congress (APC) governors.

The disagreement centres partly on the Rainbow Coalition and political developments ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has openly criticised some politicians within and outside the APC in recent months.

On Monday, he named three APC governors whom he accused of working against him.

However, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule was not among those named.

During the TVC interview, Sule reacted with humour to his absence from Wike’s list. He said he was grateful to God that he was not among the governors identified by the minister.

The comments come as political alliances continue to shift ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Rainbow Coalition has also attracted attention because of its potential impact on opposition politics and relationships between politicians across party lines.

For now, the dispute remains part of a wider political contest involving senior figures from different parties.

Meanwhile, the statements from Wike and the response from Nasarawa State Governor Sule have added another layer to the political conversation ahead of 2027.

Political observers will continue to watch how the disagreement develops and whether more governors become involved as the election season approaches.
