According to Hidayet Bayraktar, the Turkish ambassador to Nigeria, as part of measures to improve the country’s security infrastructure, drones and helicopters from Turkey will soon arrive in Nigeria.

Bayraktar gave a speech at a gathering in Abuja on Saturday to mark the 99th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey’s founding.

According to Bayraktar, Nigeria and Turkey would cooperate in a number of areas, including security, in August 2021.
The envoy explained how Turkey has been providing security support to Nigeria as a part of the two nations’ 2021 defense cooperation agreement.

He declared that Turkey intended to assist Nigeria in fending off security challenges by exchanging knowledge, skills, and technology.

According to him, the defense agreements forged between our nations last year set a new record.

I would like to use this occasion to proudly announce the upcoming arrival in Nigeria of two of our premier defense sector platforms: Bayraktar (TB-2) drones and (T-149) ATAK helicopters.

“We are certain that new Turkish defense products will help Nigeria’s government’s efforts and make a significant contribution to the country’s peace, economy, and security.

“Still the only thing standing in the way of our bilateral relations progressing further, we call Nigeria not to let terrorist organizations undercut our strong relationships by enabling this terrorist organization to finance their illicit goals and actions by raising money in this nation.”

In regards to the bilateral ties between the two nations, Bayraktar expressed his satisfaction with the developments in Turkey and Nigeria.

He also noted the trips to Nigeria and Turkey by Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, respectively.

According to him, “these reciprocal high-level visits have given us the chance to underscore our shared goal of increasing our bilateral ties in every sphere, particularly in terms of business, the defense industry, energy, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, education, tourism, and culture.”

“Turkey emphasized its willingness to share its development experience with African governments in order to deepen and strengthen its collaboration in a variety of areas as a result of its consistent growth over the past ten years and its emergence as an economic powerhouse in its region.

Turkish businesspeople are investing in a wide range of industries right now, from fast-moving consumer goods to construction, from healthcare to transportation, from energy to agriculture. Some of them are even present here today.

“I am optimistic that we will quickly reach our target of $ at the current pace of growing commercial relations.
