The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has completed a major upgrade of its Diaspora National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment portal, promising more secure, efficient, and seamless service delivery to Nigerians living abroad.

The agency’s spokesperson, Kayode Adegoke, announced the development in a statement on Monday, saying the enhanced platform will strengthen NIN enrolment and authentication processes for Nigerians in the Diaspora.

According to NIMC, all Diaspora Front-End Partners (FEPs) have been migrated to the upgraded system and trained on its effective application and management. The agency has given the FEPs 48 hours to activate their licences on the new platform, after which only compliant partners will offer enrolment services.

NIMC urged Nigerians abroad to access services through approved FEPs, assuring that a dedicated service team has been deployed to address any challenges arising from the upgrade. It apologised for any temporary inconvenience caused during the transition.

The Commission also reminded Nigerians that NIN enrolment continues at all designated centres within the country. Applicants can locate their nearest centre via the NIMC website and are encouraged to download the NIMC NINAuth App on iOS or Google Play Store to verify their NIN, control who sees their data, and enjoy smooth authentication services.
