The nationwide strike that was initiated by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has been temporarily suspended. This decision was reached on the evening of Wednesday, November 15, following the intervention of Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser.
Tommy Etim, the National Deputy Vice-President of the TUC, disclosed this information after a meeting between the leaders of the organized labor and Ribadu in Abuja.
It is worth noting that the strike was initially triggered by the alleged brutalization of Joe Ajaero, the National President of the unions, during a protest in Imo State last week. However, with the intervention of Nuhu Ribadu, the unions have decided to pause their strike action for the time being.
