On Thursday, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, members of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) organized a demonstration.

Around 8:58 a.m., members of organized labor gathered at the airport to execute their order to those in the aviation industry to cease all flights to Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

The two labor unions claim that after the attack on NLC President Joe Ajaero, they will focus their next round of actions on Imo State, including this demonstration.

Due in part to the conflict with the Imo State government, the NLC and TUC announced a nationwide strike that will begin on Tuesday, November 14.

They all poured out in a convoy to the airport, with the workers’ unions starting the march. The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport’s access and departure ramps were blocked by the demonstrators.
