The Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State, Ossai Success, has condemned the online criticism directed at the Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, following the death of Alex Ekubo.

The backlash intensified after a photo resurfaced on social media showing Pastor Jerry Eze praying for the late Nollywood actor, who reportedly died on Tuesday after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Some social media users mocked the cleric, questioning why the prayers did not lead to the actor’s recovery.

Reacting in a post shared on his official Facebook page, Ossai described the mockery as disappointing and defended the belief in divine healing and miracles.

“I’m disappointed in those mocking Pastor Jerry Eze for praying for Alex Ekubo, just because he still died of cancer,” he wrote.

“Whether you like it or not, God is still in the business of healing and miracles.

“Don’t laugh your way to self-destruction.

“The fact that Alex was prayed for doesn’t mean he couldn’t die. God knows what is best.”

The incident has continued to generate debate on social media over faith, healing, and public reactions to celebrity deaths.
