Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, has vowed to challenge what he described as injustice within the All Progressives Congress (APC) over its governorship consensus arrangement in Gombe State.
Speaking in an interview with BBC Hausa, Pantami declared his readiness to resist the party’s consensus decision, insisting that it undermines fairness and internal democracy.
He expressed confidence that he would secure the party’s governorship ticket if a direct primary election is conducted.
“I will challenge this injustice of Gombe APC governorship consensus even if I lose my life doing it,” he said.
Pantami argued that a direct primary would reflect the will of party members and give all aspirants a fair opportunity.
“If it’s a direct primary, everybody knows we will win,” he added.
He further stressed that he would pursue legal action if the situation is not addressed, promising an unprecedented legal challenge.
“If there’s no justice, I will fight it legally — a fight like never seen before in Nigeria,” he said.
The development signals growing tension within the APC in Gombe State ahead of the next electoral cycle, as debates over consensus arrangements and internal party democracy continue.
