Lead pastor of Zoe Household Global, Dolapo Lawal, has publicly apologised to Arsenal supporters after previously declaring that the club was cursed and could never win the Premier League.
The cleric, who faced widespread criticism across social media, reversed his earlier remarks after Arsenal secured the league title on Tuesday.
In a video circulating online, Pastor Lawal invited Arsenal fans to a special thanksgiving service across all Zoe Household branches on Sunday and urged them to attend wearing Arsenal jerseys.
“Arsenal fans, special thanksgiving for you in Zoe Household on Sunday. Come with your jersey. This is my public apology and special thanksgiving service across all Zoe Household campuses. Praise God. Congrats,” he said.
A month earlier, during a sermon, the pastor insisted Arsenal had no chance of winning the title regardless of their points advantage. He also advised women against entering relationships with Arsenal supporters, describing it as “a bad sign.”
His comments sparked intense reactions online, especially after Arsenal went on to lift the Premier League trophy.
