Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for eliminating fuel subsidies and harmonizing the currency rate.
On Tuesday, Governor Mbah paid President Tinubu a visit at the Presidential Villa located in Abuja.

Mbah stated in a statement released on Wednesday via his official X handle that one of the economic initiatives of the Tinubu administration that has benefited the states, including Enugu, is the unification of the currency rate.

According to the governor, the unification of exchange rates has drawn more investors to the South East state of Enugu by making it easier for investors to repatriate their money and bring it into the state.

According to Mbah, the removal of fuel subsidies, albeit now difficult for the populace, is a bold move toward improving the nation’s failing economy.

The governor declared that he is optimistic that Nigerians will gain a great deal over time from the elimination of subsidies.

“Yesterday, I paid President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a courtesy visit at the Aso Presidential Villa, Abuja,” he wrote. We talked about possible areas of collaboration between the federal government and the state of Enugu, and I commended him for the audacious actions that the country has made so far.

“One of the FG’s economic measures that has positively impacted the states, especially Enugu, is the unification of the exchange rate. Investors can now easily repatriate and bring in their funds thanks to it.

On the other hand, while it may be difficult for the populace right now, the removal of fuel subsidies is a bold move that will help our nation’s faltering economy. We are sure that Nigerians will gain a great deal from it in the long run.

“We’ve put in place a number of initiatives in Enugu to draw in investment. Every working day of the week, regular operations take place despite our heightened security. We’ve moved past our Monday at-home schedule. All that’s left to do is forget the depressing events.

“Close coordination with the federal government would be necessary for several of our projects in Enugu State. We intend to ensure that the international section of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport is fully operational in addition to building a cargo terminal.

“We will be able to secure the required licenses and permits through our dealings with the federal government, ensuring that we have an enhanced logistics center that will allow us to draw in the required investments. I was delighted to congratulate the president and request that we continue our collaboration.

“Investors from all over the world are welcome to Enugu State. We are more prepared for business than we have ever been.
