The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ini Ememobong, has dismissed reports suggesting that a faction has emerged within the opposition party.
Speaking on Arise Television in an interview monitored by DAILY POST, Ememobong asserted that the party remains intact, stressing that only a handful of dissatisfied individuals are driving the narrative of division.
He argued that the legitimacy and structure of the PDP flow from the grassroots, making claims of a faction untenable.
“It is not solid to say there’s a faction,” he stated. “It’s just a few persons who are not happy with the general flow of things. That’s what democracy is—the majority will have their way, while the minority will have their say.”
Ememobong questioned the authority of Samuel Anyanwu, who was linked to an attempt to convene a meeting purportedly aimed at removing the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagun.
“When you ask on what authority he could have convened such a meeting, it falls flat,” Ememobong said.
He added that both party staff and long-elected ex-officio members remain under the control of the state chairmen, further reinforcing that the PDP’s internal structure is intact.
