Premier League Summer Transfer Window featuring Victor Osimhen and Nigerian football stars

|By Babatunji Wusu – The Premier League Summer Transfer Window has officially opened, sparking fresh speculation around several Nigerian footballers seeking new clubs ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Premier League Summer Transfer Window runs until 1 September 2026. Despite the ongoing FIFA World Cup, clubs across Europe have already intensified recruitment plans.

One confirmed move involves Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna. Brighton & Hove Albion secured the youngster on a five-year deal from Swedish side AIK, beating competition from Chelsea and Newcastle United.

Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen remains one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. The Galatasaray forward has attracted interest from Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Real Madrid. Although he still has three years left on his contract, transfer speculation continues to grow.

Elsewhere, Samuel Chukwueze faces uncertainty after a modest loan spell at Fulham. The winger scored three goals and provided four assists, leaving doubts over whether the London club will pursue a permanent deal from AC Milan.

Kelechi Iheanacho is also waiting for clarity. The striker impressed at Celtic, helping the Scottish champions win the league title. However, his contract expires this month, although the club retains an option to extend it.

Joe Aribo has become a free agent after leaving Southampton. Reports suggest Rangers are monitoring the midfielder as they consider bringing him back to Scotland.

For Stanley Nwabali, a transfer appears increasingly likely. The goalkeeper has attracted interest from Simba FC, Azam FC and Kaizer Chiefs. According to journalist Femi Fabunmi, Simba FC are close to finalising a deal for the Nigerian international.

As the Premier League Summer Transfer Window gathers momentum, Nigerian players are expected to remain at the centre of transfer discussions across Europe and Africa.
