Joe Biden, President of the United States of America, has expressed deep appreciation for President Bola Tinubu’s unshakable dedication to defending and sustaining democracy and the rule of law in West Africa.

Biden praised Tinubu’s excellent leadership as chair of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) during their discussion on the margins of the recently concluded G20 Summit in New Delhi, India.

He also emphasized the critical role he played in preserving stability and democratic values in Niger and the region as a whole.

“President Biden welcomed the Tinubu Administration’s steps to reform Nigeria’s economy and thanked President Tinubu for his strong leadership as chair of the Economic Community of West African States to defend and preserve democracy and the rule of law in Niger and the broader region,” according to a statement on the White House official website.
