The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Tinubu to brace for possible political betrayal as the 2027 presidential election approaches.
In a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric warned that not all governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are fully aligned with the President’s second-term ambition.
According to Ayodele, some governors are showing divided loyalty, describing their stance as being “one leg in and one leg out.”
He specifically identified several northern states where the President may face challenges if strategic political efforts are not intensified.
“Not all APC governors are with you for your presidency; some are one leg in and one leg out,” he said.
He noted that states such as Kano State, Kaduna State, Katsina State, Kebbi State, Gombe State, Adamawa State and Benue State could prove difficult battlegrounds, warning that political betrayal may emerge in those areas without serious groundwork.
Ayodele further stated that the opposition is already gaining traction across parts of northern Nigeria, making the contest more competitive.
However, the cleric pointed out that some states remain favourable to the President’s re-election bid. He listed Taraba State, Niger State, Sokoto State and Borno State as strongholds that should not be taken for granted.
He also claimed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is quietly building political alliances in the North, suggesting that behind-the-scenes negotiations could shape the dynamics of the 2027 election.
Ayodele urged the President to take proactive steps in consolidating support, warning that internal party divisions and opposition strategies could significantly influence the outcome of the election.
