The distribution of critical electoral materials across Yobe has reportedly started, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, said this on Thursday at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Damaturu branch.
“The election day is only one day away. The distribution of these sensitive materials to the various electoral officers is what we are currently doing. These brochures will then be distributed to the wards and voting locations throughout the state.
They will be escorted by the military, police, and other authorities as they depart this location with the items, which are in good condition.
This is being done, he explained, “to make sure the goods get there safely for further distribution to the wards and polling places.”
The REC urged all eligible voters to cast ballots in large numbers on election days in order to elect the candidates of their choice.
“The call is crucial,” declared Abdullahi, “because if people don’t come out, they might end up with the leaders they don’t want.”
