SOKOTO PDP EXPANDS CAMPAIGN INTO SILAME, WAMAKKO AFTER EX- GOVERNOR’S NEPHEW DECAMPS FROM APC

In continuation of its statewide campaign for the upcoming gubernatorial, National Assembly, and State Assembly elections, the Sokoto State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign train, led by Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, was in Silame local government area of the State on Sunday, where it was met by an unprecedented jubilant crowd.

The party gained a significant boost ahead of the 2019 elections during the Silame rally, as 17,299 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) joined the PDP. They included the APC Youth Leader in Local Government, the Vice Chairman, and some other party executives.

Receiving the defectors, Hon. Bello Aliyu Goronyo, State Chairman of the PDP, told them that the PDP will accommodate them and include them in all party operations.

Governor Tambuwal also spoke, emphasizing his administration’s accomplishments and ongoing initiatives in the area. He also informed the audience that the State government had been providing logistical support to security agencies in order to exterminate bandits who were ravaging some parts of the state.

He stated that the people of the state will see more positive developmental accomplishments for the remainder of his tenure.
