Some federal employees, according to the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), are paid more than President Muhammadu Buhari. Mohammed Shehu, the commission’s chairman, revealed this in an interview with Channels Television on December 1st.
Shehu said that some employees of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), among other organizations, receive wages that are higher than the president’s.
“The president’s termination package is only about N10.5 million. After the president leaves office, this happens. You may think that would be the only thing you would take home after spending four or eight years. Mr. President’s monthly remuneration does not exceed N1.3 million.
