Spain completed a memorable FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign by winning the trophy and dominating the tournament’s individual awards after defeating Argentina 1-0 in Sunday’s final at the New Jersey Stadium.
A Ferran Torres goal in extra time secured Spain’s second World Cup title, but the celebrations continued as La Roja claimed three of the four major awards presented after the final.
Rodri won the Golden Ball for the tournament’s best player after his influential performances throughout Spain’s successful campaign. Pau Cubarsi was named the Best Young Player, while goalkeeper Unai Simon collected the Golden Glove award for the tournament’s outstanding goalkeeper.
The only award won by a player from another country went to France captain Kylian Mbappe, who claimed the Golden Boot after finishing as the competition’s highest scorer with 10 goals and four assists.
