  • Survey of 7,000 married women links shared household chores to reduced stress

  • Women spend 2.5 hours daily on chores, men average just 30 minutes

  • Unequal balance undermines women’s ability to combine work and personal life

An observation of 7,000 married women has revealed that equal distribution of household chores significantly reduces stress and improves the ability to balance work and personal life.

However, the study shows that reality is still far from equal. On average, women spend around 2.5 hours daily handling household tasks, compared to only half an hour for men.

The findings highlight a persistent imbalance that experts say not only strains women’s health but also perpetuates inequality in the workplace and at home.

Analysts suggest that encouraging men to share more responsibilities could ease the double burden many women face, while fostering healthier family relationships and greater gender parity.
