Nigeria’s Super Eagles will earn $50,000 for every goal they score in tonight’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against the Democratic Republic of Congo, a fresh incentive aimed at firing up the squad.

The three-time African champions had earlier pocketed $120,000 following their commanding 4-1 win over Gabon last Thursday. In that fixture, the team received $30,000 per goal, a reward jointly initiated by the National Sports Commission (NSC) and several unnamed corporate partners.

The enhanced goal bonus, officials said, is designed to elevate the players’ morale as they fight for a place in the 2026 World Cup finals.

Tonight’s winner between the Super Eagles and the Leopards of DR Congo will advance to the Intercontinental Playoffs scheduled for March 2025 in Mexico.
