President of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Danny Jordaan, has extended a warm message of support to the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against the Democratic Republic of Congo scheduled for Sunday in Morocco.

Jordaan, in a video shared on social media by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), praised Nigeria’s strength and urged the team to rise to the occasion at the Moulay Hassan Stadium. He also saluted former NFF President Amaju Pinnick, whom he described as “a friend,” while wishing the current leadership of the federation success.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s journey, Jordaan noted that both sides earned their playoff spots after Nigeria defeated Gabon and DR Congo overcame Cameroon in the semifinals. He recalled how Nigeria previously emerged from a tough qualification group that included South Africa.

“Nigeria is a big team with players among the best in the world,” Jordaan said. “I hope they play to their form and deliver the result.”

The Super Eagles will be aiming to secure their place in the 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
