Nollywood actress Temi Otedola has opened up about a surprising dynamic in her marriage, revealing that her husband, Nigerian music star Mr Eazi, avoids confrontation and instead retreats into silence—only to send long emails when upset.
Speaking during an episode of their joint podcast, Temi did not hold back as she described the habit as “a bit childish,” recounting a moment that left her visibly frustrated.
According to her, she discovered her husband was angry—not through conversation—but through a detailed email, despite both of them being in the same apartment.
“The way I found out he was upset with me was through a long message,” she said. “Meanwhile, we were in the same flat. I had even asked him several times if something was wrong, and he said nothing.”
Temi explained that reading the message made her increasingly upset, admitting she could barely finish it as emotions ran high.
“I was already getting angry while reading it. If you’re sitting next to someone, why not just talk? I honestly think it’s childish,” she added, while acknowledging that her husband may simply be more comfortable expressing himself through writing.
Responding candidly, Mr Eazi—whose real name is Tosin Ajibade—defended his unconventional communication style, admitting that he finds it easier to articulate his thoughts through typing rather than face-to-face conversations.
“I would prefer to sit down and talk,” he said, “but sometimes when we do, I don’t fully express myself. And during tense moments, I might sound too harsh.”
The singer explained that writing allows him to carefully structure his thoughts and tone before sharing them.
“For me, typing helps me say exactly what I mean. I can review it and make sure it comes out right,” he noted.
The couple’s honest exchange has since sparked conversations online about communication styles in relationships, with many weighing in on whether digital expression can replace face-to-face dialogue.
