Thirty-one people who were abducted in different parts of Sokoto State have been safely rescued by Joint Task Force North West Operation HADARIN DAJI.

the Nigerian Army released this information in an official statement that was uploaded on its official platform on Wednesday.

The statement made clear that the soldiers have been stepping up their efforts to fight terrorism nonstop, under the direction of Major General Godwin Mutkut, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army in Sokoto. To get rid of terrorist hideouts within their operational zones in the North West, they have been carrying out a number of clearance operations.

“On November 21, 2023, the OPHD troops carried out a clearance operation in Tangaza LGA, Sokoto state, clearing Alya Fulani hamlet and the Buani forest, where thirty kidnapped individuals were released.

The terrorists abandoned their hostages and left their camps before the aggressive troops arrived, destroying all of the terrorist hideouts that were found.

In addition, the statement states that “the troops proceeded to Goboro village where one female kidnapped victim was rescued as the terrorists/bandits fled in disarray due to troops’ superior firepower.”
