Niger Tornadoes steamrolled Plateau United with a ruthless 4–0 victory at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna, on Sunday — a statement win that catapulted the Ikon Allah Boys to fourth on the NPFL standings.
Abdulazeez Dalhatu delivered a sensational hat-trick, while Abdulrasheed Shehu Dabai added the fourth to complete the demolition.
Reacting to the emphatic win, technical adviser Majin Mohammed said the team deliberately sharpened its finishing hours before kickoff — and the results showed.
“We worked really hard for this win, especially on goal scoring. Even during the final shake-up this morning, we focused on finishing because if you want to win, you must score — and you can see the result. We’ll keep improving,” Mohammed told the club media.
With 14 points now secured, Niger Tornadoes turn attention to another northern derby when they face Kano Pillars this weekend at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
