Upon arrival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, a total of 264 Nigerian passengers who had flown from Lagos and Kano States were denied entry into the country. These passengers were primarily traveling to perform the lesser Hajj and were turned back at the airport immediately upon their arrival via Air Peace airline. The Saudi Arabian Authorities took the decision of canceling their visas and insisted that the airline should arrange for their return to Nigeria. The flight originated from MMIA, Lagos, and made a stopover at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano before finally landing at King Abdul-Aziz International Airport in Jeddah on Monday. To the dismay of the airline staff, the Saudi Arabian authorities unexpectedly announced the cancellation of all the passengers’ visas. This came as a surprise, considering that the passengers had already undergone the Advanced Passengers Information System during the check-in process in Nigeria, which was also closely monitored by the Saudi authorities.
