Usman Baba, a former inspector general of police (IGP), claimed that when he left his position in 2021, the Nigeria Police Force was in better shape than when he arrived.
“As I leave the Force’s leadership today, I think I’ve left it in a better place than when I arrived. As he handed the reins of power to Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, the recently appointed Acting IGP, he said, “I believe that I have added value to policing in Nigeria.” By establishing a clear vision and mission objectives as soon as he was appointed, Baba claimed that he set out to positively alter the narratives around policing in Nigeria.
The former I.G. stated that he had committed to addressing the welfare issues of serving and retired officers as well as enhancing the Force’s operational capability through the acquisition of crucial operational assets.
