The governor of Abia, Alex Otti, has stated that his administration will pursue laws and initiatives that bring about wealth and security for the populace.
Otti gave a speech at the Trademore Event Center in Umuahia’s interdenominational outdoor Thanksgiving celebration on Sunday.
The State Government organized the solemn gathering in cooperation with the Abia chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), which has as its subject “The Lord has done great things for us” derived from Psalm 126:3.
The governor declared that he was unshakable in his commitment to enhancing the welfare of the people of Abia.
We arrived to work for the Abia people and made a commitment to help them escape poverty.
He continued, “We have not come to work for big men; they will always find their way.
Otti expressed his gratitude to Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, for participating in the service and sharing his insights on effective leadership.
He pledged to uphold expectations.
He praised the opposing political parties’ governorship candidates for their support of his administration.
He urged those who had not yet done so to put down their weapons and work with him to restore Abia.
In a comment, Obi urged Otti to understand that God’s grace was crucial to his ascension to the position of governor of Abia.
We all voted for you to become governor, but keep in mind that it was only by His grace that it was possible. Do not misuse God’s grace.Consider the suffering of the masses of the impoverished in all your acts, planning, and budgeting.
The seniors should feel a sense of belonging, the civil servants should feel that they are working for Abia, and the wealthiest should be irritated.
The former governor of Anambra urged the Abia people to constantly pray for their country to improve.
The ceremony, according to the Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy, Jerry Eze, was a sign that the state had started “a journey to wholeness” once it was cured.
He compared Abia to one of the ten lepers who were healed by Jesus and later went on to be whole.
Eze asked God to give the new administration the resources they need to make great progress at all levels and to stimulate the state’s socioeconomic development.
Along with Deputy Governor Ikechukwu Emetu and his wife Adaeze, prayers were said for the governor and his wife, Priscilla.
Onyii Wamah, the head of service, as well as permanent secretaries, heads of several security organizations, chieftains of the Abia LP, spiritual leaders, and CAN members, were present.
