Wike Denies Lobbying for APC Campaign DG Role Ahead of 2027

Wike denies lobbying for APC campaign DG role ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying he does not need a position to support President Bola Tinubu.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory said reports linking him to the role were false.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Lere Olayinka, Wike said he had not discussed the leadership or membership of the Presidential Campaign Council with anyone.

He said his priority remained supporting Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and securing a strong electoral result for the president in Rivers State and the FCT.

Wike also said he was outside Nigeria after more than 30 days of commissioning and inspecting projects. He said he would return to continue delivering the FCT mandate.
