
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to attend the 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, Wike was received at the airport by Nigeria’s Consul General in Dubai, Ambassador Zayyanu Ibrahim, alongside top officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration.
While in Dubai, the minister will participate in a high-level panel session on Tuesday, where he is expected to discuss issues relating to city development, infrastructure, and governance in the FCT.
The 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors’ Forum brings together city leaders, mayors, and business executives from across the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia to share ideas on sustainable growth and urban transformation.
Organised by the Brisbane City Council, Australia, the event is regarded as one of the world’s most inclusive platforms for fostering partnerships between governments and the private sector.
This year’s edition, themed “Collaborate, Inspire, Transform,” will explore key sub-themes such as “Centres of Connection,” highlighting the role of transport networks and innovation in enhancing quality of life across cities.
