Rivers State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed the governorship Candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the state, Mr. Biokpomabo Awara, describing him as a joker.
The latest spat came amidst claim by Awara that he was the clear winner of the March 9 governorship election in the state through his “clear victory in 15” of the 23 LGAs.
Bro Felix Obuah, PDP chairman in the state, however described Awara’s statement as inconsistent, adding that he shouldn’t be taken seriously.
He described him and his backers as persons who want to reap from where they have not sown.”
Obuah accused Awara of speaking from both sides of his mouth, adding that his actions have showed nothing but “all in his desperation to reap from where he never sowed.”
He said, “The AAC Guber Candidate, while displaying his frustration over his woeful performance in the guber elections, claimed that he defeated Governor Nyesom Wike in seven (7) Local Government Areas; and in another breadth, claimed he won in fifteen (15) Local Government Areas.”
Obuah, in the statement made available to The Nation by his media aide, Mr Jerry Needam, also flayed the APC leader in the state and Minister of Transport, Hon Rotimi Amaechi, whom he had accused of wanting to get a third term through the AAC candidate.
He said the gang up between Awara and Rt Hon Chibuike Amaechi was bound to fail, stressing that Awara’s emergence into the scene was the result of an evil conspiracy to destroy the State.
“You cannot get something out of nothing. A snake would always beget a long thing and no matter how much a leopard tries, it cannot wash off its black spots,” Obuah declared, restating that PDP expected these inconsistencies.
He assured the AAC governorship candidate and the APC that no plot to bulldoze the will of Rivers people would succeed, as, according to him, the people have chosen their governor, in person of His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike
