Babatunji Wusu –

At the Niger State capital of Minna, the State’s Command Headquarters hosted the graduation of no less than 146 recently hired officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Monday.

The zonal coordinator in charge of Zone D, ACG Nongo Samuel Shima, reviewed the passing out parade, which was held in a colorful ceremony at the Minna Old Secretariat complex premises. He charged the newly recruited personnel to view their enlistment in the service as a call to duty to serve their fatherland with all sense of patriotism, discipline, determination, selflessness, and integrity.

The Zonal Coordinator told them to be more aggressive and dedicated in their work, and that the service will continue to pursue their welfare with the right amount of vigor. She also pushed them to feel fortunate to be among the recruited officers.

He did, however, issue a warning to the public, urging them to exercise caution when showing excessive hospitality to odd guests in their area. He emphasized the need to closely monitor these visitors and ensure that their presence would not pose a security risk to the neighborhood.

Among the notable attendees at the occasion were the Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission, the Zonal Commander of the Federal Fire Service, ACG Ahmed Karaye, Controller of the Niger State Fire Service, the State Coordinator of the Federal Fire Service, and Niger State Command.
