Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, paid a courtesy call to the state House of Assembly on Monday and pledged to treat everyone fairly, regardless of their party affiliations.
Kola Adewusi, the governor’s deputy, Teslim Igbalaye, the secretary to the state government, Kazeem Akinleye, the chief of staff, Akindele Adekunle, the caretaker chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and numerous other leaders of the new ruling party were with the governor during the visit.
It was the first time the new administration had traveled to the state House of Assembly, which was predominated by APC supporters from the previous administration and whose candidate, former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Mr. Adeleke had defeated in the election on July 18th.
The governor had earlier on Tuesday met members of the House of Assembly at his home in Ede.
The governor committed to continue all of the projects launched by the previous administration during his Monday plenary speech.
Mr. Adeleke declared that his government would support friendly relations with the legislators.
“Let me guarantee you right now that my government will treat everyone fairly. Delivering governance to the Osun people should come before considering the PDP, the APC, or any other party, he added.
“I want Osun to lead and serve as a model for government. This is doable if we cooperate for the benefit of our people, as doing so will guarantee a calm state and make it simpler for investors to invest here.
The governor praised the Assembly’s leadership for their support of him ever since he took office as the state’s governor.
