Following a knock in practice, Raheem Sterling has now been added to Chelsea’s expanding injury list. According to manager Graham Potter on Friday, the English forward is questionable for the team’s Premier League London derby against West Ham United.

The 28-year-old joins other forwards like Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja, as well as long-term absentees N’Golo Kante and Edouard Mendy, as Chelsea’s eighth player to be sidelined with an injury.

After moving to Chelsea for 50 million pounds ($60.55 million), Sterling struggled to regain his Manchester City form, scoring just four goals in 16 league games.

Prior to Saturday’s game, Potter told the media, “We’ve suffered a little setback with Raheem (Sterling). He had a little kick in training on the side of his knee, so we’re assessing him and he is doubtful for tomorrow.”

The players are drawing nearer and nearer. In addition to Denis Zakaria, Wesley Fofana has been working out with the group.

Despite having trained with the team, Mateo (Kovacic) is not ready yet. However, we do have some choices.

Joao Felix’s return after serving a three-match suspension for receiving a red card on his Chelsea debut last month will be encouraging for Potter.

“We all witnessed his influence in the 60 minutes leading up to the red card. Every day, you can see his quality, according to Potter.

“He’s a player who can make a difference for us, but we need to assist him fit in with the team and comprehend our goals. However, the signals are quite promising.

In a run of six games that included three losses at Potter’s former team Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, and Fulham, Chelsea is seeking its first victory on the road since October.

“We don’t like this statistic. Going away from home in the Premier League is not simple, and the injury issues we’ve been having haven’t helped,” Potter remarked.

But it’s a problem we’re attempting to solve. West Ham must be our first stop. I played there for Brighton and we had a respectable record. It’s a London derby, though, and there is no love lost between the two teams.

In addition, Potter said there was “nothing to report” about speculation that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was looking for a loan move after being left out of Chelsea’s Champions League roster.

He is supporting his teammates and acting in a really professional manner, the source continued.

“While he is here, he is acting and training precisely like I expect him to,” the speaker said.
