The National Commissioner, NDPB, Dr. Vincent Olatunji, has been invited to the Forbes Technology Council for 2023.
The Forbes Technology Council is a group of elite CIOs, CTOs, and technology executives. Membership is by invitation only.

Forbes Councils creator Scott Gerber expressed his excitement to welcome Dr. Olatunji to the Council. The goal of Forbes Councils, he emphasized, is “to bring together proven leaders from every industry, creating a curated, social capital-driven network that helps every member grow professionally and make an even greater impact on the business world.”
Dr. Olatunji added, “I am honored to be counted worthy to join the Forbes Technology Council.
“It is yet another confirmation of our modest efforts to make sure that our nation is acknowledged as one of the global leaders in Data Protection compliance,” the statement continued.
The director of the NDPB is a doctoral geographer and planner from the University of Lagos. He is a PECB Certified Data Protection Officer and a Certified Public Private Partnership Specialist (IP3 Specialist).
Dr. Olatunji is a skilled expert with a track record of producing significant achievements, making her exceptional at forging close bonds between various industries and obtaining real results.
At all levels of Nigerian government, he has also effectively led teams, carried out in-depth research, formulated useful policies, and put strategic plans into action. He excels at negotiating, networking, and public speaking, and his area of specialty is fostering human growth and process transformation.
He has over 30 years of experience working in the public sector, and as a result, he brings a lot of knowledge and professionalism to the Forbes Technology Council board.
Having worked in a number of divisions since joining the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) in 2002, Dr. Olatunji attained the positions of director in 2014 and acting director general in 2016.
He served as the Director of eGovernment Development and Regulations at NITDA, where he managed a powerful team to deliver numerous initiatives on Nigeria’s digital transformation, prior to his appointment in February 2022 as the NDPB’s first National Commissioner of NDPB.
In his capacity as Nigeria’s Data Protection Ombudsman, Dr. Olatunji has made a significant contribution to the development of international standards-compliant policies and frameworks, strengthening the status of both Nigeria and Africa in the world of data protection.
He has participated in numerous capacity-building programs in a variety of subjects, including, but not limited to, public sector management, project planning and management, digital transformation, and data protection. He has participated in numerous expert committees and has spoken on behalf of Nigeria at both national and international events.
