A prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu dispatched his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to persuade him not to leave Nigeria after Tinubu’s presidential victory. George disclosed this on Wednesday while addressing his previous vow to leave the country if Tinubu emerged as president in the 2023 election.

During his appearance on Arise TV’s Morning Show, George said Tinubu sent Gbajabiamila to apologize for wrongdoings and to calm him down, as the President was aware of George’s discontent. George explained, “They knew they had wronged me, so they came to pacify me.”

He also spoke about the ongoing tension between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara. George referred to Wike as a “son” and highlighted his role as an elder in trying to mediate the crisis within the PDP. He shared his efforts to arrange meetings between the two to resolve the issues.

According to George, “I called for a meeting between Wike and Fubara to understand the root of the problem. Fubara explained his side when we met in Port Harcourt, and Wike promised to address the issue once he returned from China.”
