Commissioner of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Suleiman Yahaya Vokna, has resigned from office, stepping down effective October 17, 2025.
Vokna, who confirmed his resignation in a personally signed statement, said his decision followed careful reflection and was driven by personal reasons and a desire to pursue “other interests that matter most.”
“This decision was not made lightly. It stems from personal reasons and the desire to pursue other interests,” he said, stressing that his exit was in the best interest of both himself and the Commission.
He thanked Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for the opportunity to serve, describing his time in office as an honour and a privilege to contribute to democratic development in the state.
Vokna noted that he upheld integrity, impartiality, and transparency throughout his tenure, praising the Commission’s achievements and commending his colleagues for their professionalism and teamwork.
He extended his best wishes to the state government and ADSIEC leadership as they continue their mandate.
