Three top European clubs — Brentford, Sevilla, and Galatasaray — have celebrated the Super Eagles’ emphatic qualification for the 2026 World Cup playoff final after Nigeria crushed Gabon 4–1 on Thursday in Rabat, Morocco.
Nigeria dominated the Panthers with goals from Akor Adams, Chidera Ejuke, and a brace from Victor Osimhen, securing a decisive victory that pushed them into Sunday’s crucial playoff clash against DR Congo.
On X, Sevilla — home to Nigerian duo Adams and Ejuke — applauded the performance, posting:
“A 2nd Super Eagles goal for Akor Adams. Akor scoring in a 4–1 win. Run it back… First goal for Ejuke. We mount.”
Galatasaray also celebrated Osimhen’s heroics, writing:
“We congratulate Victor Osimhen and his country Nigeria for defeating Gabon 4–1… Congratulations, @victorosimhen9.”
Premier League side Brentford joined in, cheering their Nigerian stars Benjamin Fredrick and Frank Onyeka:
“One step closer to the World Cup. Benji and Frank in a 4–1 Play-Off win over Gabon this evening.”
