The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful, assuring that the party is working to reposition itself to rescue the country from what it described as the stranglehold of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The position of the party was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the Expanded Emergency Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the PDP held on Wednesday.
In the statement, the party expressed disagreement with the ruling of the Court of Appeal which invalidated the November 15 to 16, 2025 National Convention that produced the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led National Working Committee.
According to the communiqué, the PDP said it is currently awaiting legal advice from its lawyers on the next line of action regarding the court judgment.
The party also expressed concern over internal leadership disputes and wranglings within its ranks, noting that the disagreements had resulted in damaging litigations that have negatively affected the unity and smooth running of the party as Nigeria’s major opposition platform.
Despite the challenges, the PDP urged Nigerians not to lose hope, stressing that it remains committed to reorganizing itself for the task of national recovery.
The party maintained that efforts are ongoing to strengthen its structures and reposition the party ahead of future political engagements.
