Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has stirred fresh controversy after issuing spiritual threats against members of the Yoruba community who do not support President Bola Tinubu ahead of the next general elections.
In a video shared online, the “Zazu” crooner warned that any Yoruba individual who fails to vote for Tinubu would face spiritual consequences, invoking traditional deities in his remarks.
Portable claimed he had been engaged by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to campaign for the president’s re-election bid.
“We need peace, we want peace. If you don’t want war in Nigeria, you better vote for Tinubu,” he said.
He went further to issue threats, stating that thunder and Ogun would strike any Yoruba person who opposes the president’s re-election. The singer also suggested that he had received party support materials and hinted at plans to distribute food items as part of campaign efforts.
The remarks have since triggered reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over the use of threats and spiritual intimidation in political discourse.
