Arsenal scored three second-half goals to defeat Lille 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, maintaining their perfect start to the 2026/2027 UEFA Champions League campaign.

After a goalless first half, Mikel Arteta’s side raised the tempo after the break, with Jurrien Timber, Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka all finding the net.

Timber opened the scoring in the 64th minute, calmly lifting the ball over Lille goalkeeper Berke Ozer after receiving a pass from Noni Madueke.

Arsenal doubled their advantage just three minutes later. Substitute Saka set up Eze, whose effort took a deflection before crossing the line.

Saka then completed the scoring, finishing Kai Havertz’s cut-back to give the Gunners their third goal in just seven minutes.

The victory earned Arsenal another three points and kept them among the early leaders in the Champions League standings. They now have six points from two matches, level with Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon.

Despite the defeat, Lille had a chance to respond but could not find a way past Arsenal’s defence. Former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud also made a late appearance for the visitors, receiving a warm reception from the home crowd.

The result strengthens Arsenal’s position in the opening stages of the competition as they continue their pursuit of European success under Arteta.
