The Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in Jigawa State has warned public officers and political office holders to personally submit their completed asset declaration forms or risk sanctions.
The directive was issued in a statement signed by the Jigawa State Director of the Bureau, Sani Ibrahim Bayero, who stressed that personal submission is mandatory under the law.
Bayero directed all affected officers to submit their forms at the CCB office located within the Federal Government Secretariat in Dutse, noting that the requirement aligns with the Bureau’s statutory duties as outlined in Paragraph 3 of the Third Schedule to the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
The Bureau cautioned that submitting asset declaration forms to any office other than the Code of Conduct Bureau constitutes a clear breach of the Constitution.
According to the statement, strict compliance with the directive will enhance transparency, accountability, and proper documentation of declared assets, while failure to comply could attract avoidable sanctions.
The CCB reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing integrity within the public service and urged public officers to support efforts aimed at strengthening good governance and full adherence to constitutional provisions.
