A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to celebrity Nigerian cryptocurrency entrepreneur, Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, after weeks in detention at Kuje prison over alleged impersonation of social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan.

The development was disclosed by activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, in a statement shared on his official Facebook page on Friday.

According to Sowore, the court granted Blord bail on self-recognizance following his arraignment at the Federal High Court, Abuja, marking a significant turn in the high-profile case that has drawn public attention.

However, the court imposed conditions, ordering the entrepreneur to surrender his international passport as part of the bail terms.

“Bail has been granted to Linus Williams, popularly known as @mrblordofficial BLORD, on self-recognizance. The court, however, ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions,” Sowore stated.

Blord had earlier been remanded in Kuje prison on April 1, 2026, after facing allegations linked to impersonation, a move that sparked widespread reactions across social media and Nigeria’s crypto community.

With his release now secured under strict conditions, attention is expected to shift to the legal battle ahead as the case continues in court.
