La Liga champions FC Barcelona have confirmed the postponement of the Joan Gamper Trophy match set for August 10, citing ongoing construction delays at the newly renovated Camp Nou stadium. The game against Como was intended to mark the reopening of the stadium after its extensive redevelopment.
The club explained that the necessary municipal permits have not been granted due to the scale of the construction and the challenge of meeting all regulatory conditions on time. Despite efforts to reopen the stadium in phases, Barcelona has been unable to complete the required procedures to secure the initial license.
Barcelona emphasized its ongoing collaboration with the city council and relevant authorities to resolve these issues promptly. The club assured supporters that it will provide updates regarding the stadium’s reopening as progress is made. Importantly, the delay will not affect the repayment timeline for the Espai Barca development debt.
