In Frozen 3, we can be certain that a well-known snowman will appear with the same well-known voice in the part. This past week, it was made public that Disney is developing a number of significant prequels, including the long-rumored Frozen 3. Toy Story 5 and Zootopia 2 have also been confirmed by the House of Mouse, giving Disney movie fans a lot to look forward to in the upcoming years.

Josh Gad announced his return to voice Olaf for the third Frozen film on Twitter shortly after the news surfaced. Given his intimate connection to the character, it shouldn’t come as a surprise, but the good news is nevertheless welcome for Olaf fans. “Excited to head back… into the Unknown,” Gad wrote in a tweet.

The actor also tweeted, “All three of these recently announced sequels might be combined into one huge crossover.” “I suppose it’s also possible that it will be a crossover event. ToyFroTopia?”

Josh Gad Will Keep Voice Acting as Olaf

Gad made his voice acting debut as Olaf in the 2013 smash hit film Frozen. The character is first introduced as a magical snowman made by Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Anna (Kristen Bell) who becomes a friend and companion for the two throughout their lives. In 2019, the character made a comeback for the theatrical sequel Frozen II, which was also a huge box office success. Gad previously hinted that Olaf would return to the big screen for a potential Frozen 3 in 2020.

According to PopCulture.com at the time, he stated, “I don’t know whether and when there will be a Frozen 3.” “We’ll see, though! If there’s ever a tale worth telling, I have no doubt that Jennifer Lee and the outstanding staff at Disney Animation will do just that.”
Gad has continued to portray Olaf outside of the Frozen film series in the interim. He had produced his own short films, including Once Upon a Snowman, Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, and Frozen Fever. In a miniseries titled Olaf Presents, which was granted to Olaf on Disney+, the character parodied previous Disney films such The Little Mermaid, Moana, and The Lion King. The character has also appeared in a number of video games, with Gad lending his voice to the role.

For the 2021 sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Gad voiced the ghost Muncher in a recent cinematic project. He has leading roles on television in the series Avenue 5 and Wolf Like Me, and he also provides voices for Central Park. Gad made a special cameo as himself in the superhero parody show The Boys last year.

A release date has not yet been set for Frozen 3.
