The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has confirmed that 20 vessels are currently discharging petroleum products and other commodities at the Apapa, Lekki and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos.
The disclosure was contained in the Authority’s latest shipping position released to journalists on Saturday.
According to the NPA, the vessels are offloading a wide range of consignments, including buckwheat, diesel, crude oil, bulk pallets, general cargo, petrol, containers, bulk gas, fresh fish, bulk urea, salt and aviation fuel.
The Authority further disclosed that an additional 35 vessels laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive at the Lagos ports between Saturday and January 25.
It stated that the incoming ships will deliver general cargo, gypsum, bulk oil, bulk urea, gasoline, condensate, buckwheat, containerised goods, bulk salt and petrol.
Meanwhile, the NPA revealed that nine vessels have already arrived at the ports and are currently awaiting berthing. These ships are carrying bulk urea, crude oil, diesel, aviation fuel, containers, general cargo and petrol.
The development signals sustained maritime traffic and steady cargo throughput across Nigeria’s busiest seaports.
