PAMO University of Medical Sciences has joined the Oxonia University Network, strengthening its international academic links and opportunities for medical research.
The university announced its membership at a ceremony held at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
Professor Adaeze Chidinma Oreh represented PAMO University’s Board of Trustees at the event.
The Oxonia University Network brings together higher education institutions to promote international cooperation, joint research, student exchanges and innovation.
The network currently connects more than 153 universities across 41 countries.
As a specialised medical institution, PAMO University will contribute expertise in healthcare education, medical research and professional training.
The membership also creates opportunities for academic partnerships, faculty exchanges and collaboration with other universities within the network.
Meanwhile, Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu, Executive Secretary of Nigeria’s National Universities Commission, has assumed the presidency of the Oxonia University Network.
He succeeds Professor Abubakar Rasheed, the outgoing president.
Under Professor Ribadu’s leadership, the network plans to strengthen international academic partnerships and joint healthcare research.
It also aims to promote faculty exchanges and integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into university teaching, administration and medical research.
The development places PAMO University among the institutions participating in the network’s international academic activities.
However, the university’s membership will also provide opportunities to deepen its engagement with other institutions in medical education, research and technological innovation.
