The Yobe State Police Command has rescued four teenage girls who were abducted during an attempted kidnapping attack in Fika Local Government Area of the state.
The victims, all females aged between 15 and 17 years, were rescued unhurt following a swift response by police operatives and local vigilantes.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the incident occurred on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at about 2:23 p.m., when the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters received a distress call reporting that unidentified gunmen had attacked Didim Village in Fika and abducted four young girls.
The statement said police operatives attached to the Kukar Gadu Outstation immediately mobilised to the scene in collaboration with local vigilantes, while additional reinforcement was dispatched from the Fika Division to support the rescue mission.
