Chief Raymond Dokpesi, the founder of DAAR Communications Limited and owner of AIT TV and Raypower radio, has been detained by British police. According to reports, Dokpesi was detained on January 8, 2023, at Heathrow Airport in London.
Whistler claims that Dokpesi was detained upon arrival at Heathrow Airport. He had flown with Lufthansa on flight LH916 from Frankfurt to London, and was then picked up at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2.
“We were traveling from Frankfurt to London when we received information that we should all remain seated when the plane lands and that the police wanted to take action. There will be a police operation, as was told to us. So when we landed, the police entered and demanded to know who Raymond Dokpesi was before removing him, according to a source who saw the arrest.
It’s unclear why he was detained. According to the report, he will make his initial court appearance on January 9.
