Tunji Wusu –

The Senate is anticipated to receive the President’s list of ministerial nominations this week, with five days remaining in the 60-day constitutional window.

Tope Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to the President for Media and Publicity, stated in a Sunday interview with The PUNCH,

This week, Ministers’ List will be published. Let’s wait for the release of the names.

The 1999 Constitution mandates that within 60 days of taking the oath of office, the President and governors must submit the names of individuals nominated as ministers or commissioners for the Senate’s or each state’s House of Assembly’s consideration.

As required by law, Tinubu, who took office as president on May 29, must submit his list of ministers to the Senate by July 29.

Nigerians are worried about the quiet regarding the ministerial list.

Yemi Adaramodu (APC, Ekiti South), who serves as the Senate’s spokesperson, claimed that the upper house had adequate time to review the ministerial nominations before the deadline.
