Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has called on her colleagues to remain grounded despite the global spotlight on the genre, warning that fame without humility can quickly lead to a fall from grace.

Speaking in an interview with Hot 97 FM, New York, the Malo hitmaker stressed that Afrobeats artists are merely ambassadors of the sound and should not allow success to cloud their judgment.

“We are just ambassadors, just the faces of Afrobeats. That’s why we can’t let it get into our heads because we are only vessels—God can take it away like that,” Savage cautioned. “Imagine coming this far and then falling. That is worse than not ever tasting fame.”

The singer likened the experience to losing sight after enjoying vision, insisting that humility and gratitude remain her guiding principles.

Savage also praised some of her colleagues for their artistry and confidence. She described rising star Ayra Starr as a bolder version of herself, applauded Tems for her aura of mystery, and commended Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz for elevating his community through music.

As Afrobeats continues to dominate global charts, Savage’s words echo as a reminder that beyond the fame, longevity in the genre depends on humility and staying true to the craft.
