The elevation of 55 senior officers to various positions in the Nigerian Navy (NN) Board is now official.

Adedotun Ayo-Vaughan, a commodore who serves as the Naval Headquarters’ director of information, announced this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

He claimed that 30 Commodores were promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral, while 25 Captains were promoted to Commodore.

The board had earlier promoted 72 Commanders to the rank of Captain.

The newly promoted Rear Admirals are: Garba Abubakar, Adewale Olanrewaju, Fatah Sanusi, Domnan Dangwel, Hamisu Sadiq, Olusanya Bankole, Noel Madugu, Daupreye Matthew and Emmanuel Nmoyem.

Others include Chidozie Okehie, Sunday Atakpa, Oluwole Fadeyi, Julius Nwagu, Abdul-Rasheed Haruna, John Okeke, Olatunde Oludude, Patrick Effah, Abubakar Mustapha, and Clement Atebi.

Ebiobowei Zipele, James Okosun, Suleiman Abdullahi, Ibrahim Shehu, Fredrick Damtong, Chijoke Onyemaobi, and Kasimu Bushi were all given promotions as well.

Priston Efedue and Jamila Malafa, according to Mr. Ayo-Vaughan, were both promoted to retirement.

According to him, the newly promoted Commodores are Sola Adebayo, Stephen Ega, Mohammed Hassan, Hyacinth Nwaka, Ugochukwu Ajulu, Mohammed Alhassan, Benjamin Francis and Mohammed Manga.

Others are: Adewale Odejobi, Humphrey Oriekezie, Tamuno-Kubie Senibo, Toritseju Vincent and Badamasi Yahuza, Kennedy Ozokoye, Igbadi Abechi, Abidemi Abu, Sylvester Eartha-ogwa and Salisu El-Hussein.

While Lanre Ajibade and Chima Mpi were both elevated to retirement, the remaining employees are Idouye Ketebu, Ogochukwu Ogbologu, Adedotun Ogundiran, Enoch Sogbesan, and Daniel Kumangari.

Vice admiral and Chief of Naval Staff Awwal Gambo expressed their happiness with them and their families on behalf of the officers, ratings, and civilian staff of the NN.

He exhorted them to recommit to their duties and to uphold their allegiance to the country and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
